Work With Us

How external partners can collaborate with CIM:

The Centre for Industrial Mechanics (CIM) collaborates closely with industry, public institutions, and research partners to address real-world engineering challenges through applied research, advanced testing, and innovation.

Consultancy Services

CIM provides expert consultancy in a wide range of engineering disciplines, including Applied Mechanics, Mechatronics, and Energy Systems. Our researchers support industry partners with system analysis, modeling and simulation, design optimization, experimental validation, and troubleshooting of complex mechanical and mechatronic systems.

Industry Collaboration Opportunities

We work with industrial partners on both short-term problem-solving tasks and long-term strategic collaborations. These partnerships may involve feasibility studies, prototype development, performance testing, digitalization solutions, or joint supervision of student and PhD projects tailored to industrial needs.

Joint Research Projects

CIM actively participates in national and international research projects in collaboration with industry and academic partners. We support the preparation and execution of joint research proposals for EU Framework Programmes, Innovation Fund Denmark, Villum Foundation, and other national and international funding schemes, including collaborative R&D and demonstration projects.

Access to Laboratory Facilities and Testing

Industry and research partners can access CIM’s advanced laboratory infrastructure for testing, prototyping, and validation. Available facilities include, among others, the Fatigue and Fracture Lab, Additive Manufacturing (3D Printing) Lab, Power-to-X Lab, Drone and Autonomous Systems Lab, and Heating and Cooling Systems Lab. Our labs support experimental research across multiple scales, from material testing to full system validation.

Innovation and Technology Transfer

CIM supports innovation and technology transfer by transforming research results into practical solutions for industry and society. We collaborate with partners on technology development, proof-of-concept demonstrations, and commercialization pathways, contributing to sustainable, efficient, and competitive engineering solutions.
